ReplyDeleteWhew! A lot going on under Fritz's handsome face this weekend. The 'phantom time' idea is a good laugh, especially since people seem to believe it. These are, one assumes, people who don't take into account any culture but European. It'd be hard to have coaxed the Mayans into going along with such a scam. And trees. Trees probably wouldn't have grown extra rings for the cause... The discovery of the Egyptian tomb from the 2nd Dynasty is interesting. The 2nd Dynasty! One might respect Curzon but admiration probably doesn't figure in many responses to that 'superior person', but... Well done, sir! And fortune telling a la fromage... Soothsaying really can become cheesy at times...
