I recall the San Ysidro massacre when it happened; what a terrible event. Mass shootings weren't common then. I'm surprised no one has made a movie or tv series about Lai Teck. He sounds an interesting man, though possibly a frustrating character in a story. Cahokia sounds interesting, too. There seem to be a number of big centres from ancient times that simply were abandoned.
