The potato chip story provides a different origin than the one I had heard but, to be honest, I suspect that the potato chip is such a simple thing (just a very thin fried potato) that it was likely around for centuries, and it is a matter of who popularised or commercialised it, more than who invented it.

    And the bit about Mozart's son... I amuse myself by reading random articles from the encyclopaedia and internet, and just last week, I read an article on...Mozart's son.
