It must be remembered, that women were almost always left out of the historical records. This is why it seems that only men participated in history (and in the history of science, but this is an another story... Women couldnt eg attempt in university classes at all...). I would go to the library and search through a foot-thick dictionary of medieval Latin usage to try and work out what a particular word meant when used by a scribe from region X in the year Y. The problem was that some of the scribes who wrote the original accounts had as shaky a grasp of Latin grammar, syntax and vocabulary as the clueless students like me who were trying to interpret their words. It was a case of garbage in, even more garbage out. But I definitely learned that the heretics were in, of, above, behind or in the general region of Toulouse, Tours, Losino or possibly an archaic word for a loaf of bread.Andrew Zalotockyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08674409759741374623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7493712084606110971.post-32933858690896527962019-02-12T11:19:17.078-08:002019-02-12T11:19:17.078-08:00Most interesting.
